Resonates With returns to the Padang Atrium with a live performance by Singapore string quartet Accidental, comprising of Hyukjin (violin), Claire (violin), Su Yan (viola), and Yixin (cello). In this performance, Accidental will present a repertoire of pieces inspired by selected artworks in the Gallery’s special exhibition Chua Mia Tee: Directing the Real.
Accidental is a string quartet that formed through its members’ common love for music and performing. All four members of Accidental—Yoon Hyukjin (violin), Claire Chang (violin), Yong Su Yan (viola), and Hong Yixin (cello)—were trained in classical music from a young age. With a burning passion for music, the quartet enjoys venturing into contemporary music—including pop and jazz pieces—in addition to classical repertoire. Accidental hopes to bring music to all groups of people, and aims to show that music of all kinds is approachable, versatile, and most importantly, magical.
Registration for the performance will open one hour before each session at the Padang Atrium. Limited seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Session 1 will also be broadcast on the Gallery’s
