Are you passionate about art and sharing this with people? If so, consider becoming a docent. You'll be part of a vibrant community of individuals connecting visitors to the rich history and collection of the Gallery.
Docents serve as storytellers, introducing the Gallery and its collection to visitors and inspiring them toward a greater appreciation of art.
No previous experience in guiding is necessary, but docents will be required to undergo an extensive training programme to prepare them to lead guided tours at the Gallery.
The training programme is designed to equip docents with:
- An understanding of visitor group profiles
- Group facilitation skills for guiding tours
- Knowledge of the art of Singapore and Southeast Asia
- Insights on the architecture and history of the former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings
A training fee of SGD$200* per participant will apply.
Upon completion of the training programme, docents are required to volunteer for at least 12 hours over a minimum period of 1 year.
Thank you for your interest. Thank you for your interest, there will be no recruitment of docents in 2018/19.
