National Gallery Singapore, Level B1, Padang Atrium Gallery Gigs brings to audiences live performances by various artists, where you get to enjoy something old, something new, something borrowed and some blues. The theme of this years’ Gallery Gigs, “Future/Nostalgia”, is inspired by how we constantly re-imagine our past, present and futures. For the performers, the continuum of time is an evergreen source of artistic inspiration.
Listen to the sounds of the Nusantara in a whole new way with ANTARMUKA.
Spotlights will be used on stage.
The electronic duo ANTARMUKA, helmed by Syafiq Halid and Rosemainy Buang, experiments with finding the balance between analogue sensibilities and the digital world. They reconstruct and reinterpret sounds and rasa, or “aesthetic flavour,” with an eclectic mix of Nusantara rhythms, gamelan elements, electronic sounds and voice experimentation. ANTARMUKA have performed at esteemed local and regional sound exhibitions such as Nusasonic HCMC and the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. In 2022, they released their first single “KRANK.”
