An article about Pura Villanueva Kalaw's development as a writer and feminist advocate. Pura was the mother of Purita Kalaw-Ledesma and wife of Teodoro M. Kalaw. She was one of the first exponents of woman suffrage in the Philippines and founder of Philippine Women Writers and League of Women Voters of the Philippines.
