- Scope and Content
- In her letter to Pauline Chen and Chen Fah-Shin, Georgette Chen suggests getting real artist easels for their sitting room instead of designing one herself. She provides updates on her current situation, mentioning an improvement in her health with gold treatment, although the relief is irregular. Georgette mentions that she has fixed the price of small self-portraits at $150 and expects several orders. Regarding her house, she mentions that the plan is ready for submission to the City Council. Georgette estimates that the building will start at the end of April with a down payment of $6000, and she could move in by the end of August. She plans to take a $5000 loan to finance her house and will entrust the entire $10,000 to Mr. Cylon. She estimates repaying the loan in 15 years, "even if not a single picture is sold." The total cost of the house is $16,500, and she explains the payment terms.
