- Scope and Content
- In her letter to Georgette Chen, Chang Yi Ming mentions her hope for a family reunion, though she acknowledges its difficulty. She reflects on their father's dedication to his country, noting, "he was known as a poor man after doing so much for his country." Yi Ming explains that their father left little in his will, which she invested with Chase Manhattan Bank, resulting in $210,000 in securities. She plans to divide this amount among the 14 children over five years, providing $3,000 to each child annually. Yi Ming asks Georgette if she wishes to open an account with Chase Manhattan Bank to facilitate the transfer of funds. She concludes by expressing her intention to devote her remaining years to religion, seeing this distribution as the completion of her duty.
