- Scope and Content
- From GC to friends (Pauline and Fah-Shin), expressing disappointment at Fah-Shing’s telegram informing that they would not be coming after all. Updates about her new house, that they were preparing to commence piling, which would add $1200 to the cost. Informs she was borrowing $7000 instead of $5000 from the Loan Society for such unexpected expenses. Proposes that the big picture be exhibited as it is for the Black and White exhibition, and include Fah-Shin later when the whole family can pose together. “This is what I think about the big picture. The picture as it is can already be exhibited. I would like however to work in the stripes on the dress as they will make a very nice pattern. If Fashin cannot come down, I propose to send in the pictures as it is and when the whole Chen family poses for the actual painting, Daddy can be included.”
