Scope and Content
Photographic documentation of Sukarno and his entourage inspecting the construction process for "Selamat Datang" by Edhi Sunarso. Completed in 1961, the sculpture was commissioned by Indonesia's first president Sukarno. The sculpture overlooks the old Kemayoran Airport and was originally designed to welcome international athletes and visitors to Jakarta for the 4th Asian Games. The artist, Sukarno, and Kartini Manoppo are also pictured here.
