Scope and Content
In her letter to Chuang Yoeh Foong, Georgette Chen reveals her frustration that her letters never reached her, Rosamonde, or Mr. Houamphou. She had been waiting for their advice before deciding to move, but due to the urgency of responding to teaching offers in Penang and not receiving any responses, they decided to relocate. Georgette expresses no regrets about their decision. She expresses her intention to paint Penang, describing it as the "Pearl of the Orient" and "Paradise on Earth," praising its beauty and allure.
