Ngee Ann Development
Ngee Ann Development’s S$16 million contribution supports the Gallery in cultivating a greater appreciation for the art of Singapore and Southeast Asia for generations to come. It marks the corporation’s first donation to a visual arts institution in Singapore, and is an extension of its longstanding mission to strengthen the arts and education.
Supporting the arts & the community
In recognition of this generous donation, The Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium & Foyer and The Ngee Ann Kongsi Concourse Gallery were named after Ngee Ann Development Pte Ltd.
The Ngee Ann Kongsi Auditorium & Foyer was designed to stimulate thought and foster community bonds, and has hosted lectures, seminars, and movie screenings featuring thought leaders and luminaries in the arts.
It has also hosted several community programmes, including the annual Singapore International Children’s Film Festival, and the Arts & Disability Forum 2016.
The Ngee Ann Kongsi Concourse Gallery presents changing exhibitions that spotlight selected artists from the Gallery’s long-term exhibitions. Its inaugural exhibition was a major survey featuring close to 200 works by master potter Iskandar Jalil.
Ngee Ann Development’s partnership with the Gallery is an extension of our longstanding mission to strengthen the arts and education scene in Singapore. We hope that our contribution to this world-class visual arts institute will provide more Singaporean artists a platform to showcase their talent to thea global audience.
