- In her letter to her stepmother Chang Yi Ming, Georgette Chen shares that she has realized $2000 from her securities held at Chase Bank. She mentions her exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur, which was under the patronage of the Chief Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, an old friend of hers and Eugene Chen's. Georgette expresses her physical challenges, particularly after a severe arthritic attack on her knees, which has limited her ability to stoop down completely. She mentions taking Lugol’s iodine to manage the pain and reserves meticorten as a last resort. Georgette expresses gratitude for the Brownie camera set and toilet seat covers, and asks Yong Yong to help find an ARGUS camera using size 120 film. She also discusses her painting of a Ceylonese Buddhist monk, reflecting on her parents while creating it, and mentions that the painting is included in the catalogue of her recent exhibition, which she is sending under separate cover.
