Chinese temple exterior walls - Chen Chong Swee's travel photo
Dates
1952‐06 / 1952‐07 (Date of Creation)
Scope and Content
The elaborate roof decorations and the white gourd-like feature atop building suggest this is the exterior of a Chinese temple (klenteng in Javanese) in most probably Java. At the far right where the roofing becomes tiered and more decorated is the main entrance of the temple, where people are milling. A boy stands in sunlight against whitewashed walls of temple.
