National Gallery Singapore - Wu Guanzhong: Expressions of Pen & Palette

Wu Guanzhong (1919-2010) is one of the most significant artists of 20th century China. His distinctive style fuses Western and Chinese art traditions, and set a new direction for modern Chinese art. A prolific painter and writer, his works paved the way for younger generations of artists and continue to inspire many to this day.

Wu Guanzhong: Expressions of Pen & Palette invites you to step inside the artist's expansive world of painting and literature. It explores for the first time the intimate relationship between Wu's words and paintings through an intimate selection of works from the National Collection and major private collections.
