Lost Women Artists of Southeast Asia

Research Fellowship

Total Amount to be Raised: SGD 50,000

This year-long research project aims to uncover and document the work of overlooked female artists active in Southeast Asia before 1960.

By conducting archival research and engaging with local histories, the project seeks to recover their contributions and reframe the region’s art history with greater inclusivity. This work will shed light on neglected artistic practices and networks, filling critical gaps in scholarship and providing a foundation for future study and recognition of these pioneering women artists.

Queer Lines - LGBTQ+ Artists, Post-war (Southeast Asia & Beyond)

Research Grant

Total Amount to be Raised: SGD 70,000

This research grant supports critical archival and artistic research centred on LGBTQ+ artists in the post-war era across Southeast Asia and beyond.

By exploring diverse artistic practices, the research aims to deepen understanding of queer identities and cultural expression in the region. This work will generate new knowledge and perspectives that contribute to the broader fields of art history, queer studies, and Southeast Asian studies, laying a foundation for future scholarship and dialogue, and publication.

Tactile Program for the Vision-Impaired

Community Engagement

Amount to be Raised: SGD 70,000

This research initiative is dedicated to developing a key community resource for people who are vision-impaired, with the goal of transforming their engagement with museums.

By combining tactile experiences with technology, the project makes visual art accessible in new and meaningful ways—bringing artworks to life through touch. We invite funders to support this initiative, helping to foster equity, spark creativity, and build lasting cultural inclusion for an underserved community.
