After the Monsoon: Art & War in Southeast Asia unravels the entanglements between war and art. Art has been mobilised as a generative force for critically reflecting, remembering, documenting, and healing in the face of conflict.

The Second World War and the Vietnam War anchor this exhibition as wars that have historically and culturally impacted Southeast Asia. In response to the conditions of war, artists and art took on new roles in society, and the exhibition explores how modern art in Southeast Asia has been shaped by these legacies. Featured artists include Affandi (Indonesia), Fernando Amorsolo (Philippines), Robert Zhao (Singapore), Tuan Andrew Nguyen (Vietnam), and more.
