Kindness Garden

I love working with vibrant colours and textures. Flowers are my biggest inspiration. They can be so healing!

I created this colourful garden of sunflowers, roses, lavenders and some orchids too! The local children we worked with while planning for the Biennale suggested which flowers to feature. Each flower can be experienced through different senses.

What does kindness mean to you? To me, there are 12 different ways to express kindness. Can you guess what they are? You can find clues behind the dot motifs on the petals!

The motifs are inspired by braille, a writing system that you can read by touch. Braille is used by people who are blind.

You can learn about braille on the petals on the rainbow wall. Try to connect the braille alphabets to read the braille on the petals!

I chose 12 meanings of kindness because the number is special. There are 12 months in the year, 12 hours on the clock. What else does the number 12 remind you of?

Feeling overwhelmed? Have some quiet time in the lavender domes and give the lavender plushies a big hug. That’s my favourite way to keep calm.
