Khoo Sui Hoe is a US-based artist born in Kedah, Malaysia. Since 1963, the human figure has been a dominant theme in his work, with the human form often integrated with its surroundings. His painting Children of the Sun (1965), a monumental painting with elegant figures basking in the warm flow of the sun, was the first public art ocmmission in Singapore. In 1971, he became the first Manager-Curator of Alpha Gallery in Singapore. Khoo has exhibited extensively in museums and galleries worldwide. Hear more from Khoo in Session 3 of the Gallery's zine series Another Initial Impetus.
