Resonates With Residency

Leo is a movement artist with roots in street and contemporary dance. His practice draws from the foundations of street dance alongside methodologies from contemporary movement. His works span competitions, and screen dance, many of them created with his crew – Bonsai.

Leo develops his movement vocabulary through Hip Hop, Breaking, Acrobatics, and urban dance forms. He is interested in physical conversations and how forces can initiate movement between movers without words. His movement language centers around shape-making, floorwork, and creating initiations that generate further movement.

Nabillah Jalal is a Singapore-based pianist, creative director, and cultural practitioner whose work explores the connections between music, heritage, and community. Trained in Western classical piano at the Royal College of Music in London, her practice has since expanded into multiethnic and intercultural music-making through collaborative and participatory approaches.

She is the co-founder of Artusik and founder of NJ Studio, where her work centres on creating meaningful and accessible ways for people to engage with music and cultural traditions. Through performance, education, and community-driven projects, she is interested in how heritage can continue to evolve through contemporary lived experiences.
