Ink Reimagined: Art Across Generations

Showcasing over 50 new acquisitions and other ink artworks from Singapore & Southeast Asia, this exhibition explores the fluid and evolving nature of ink art, tracing its transformations across different generations, geographies, and artistic dialogues. Moving beyond conventional narratives, the exhibition examines how ink—deeply rooted in tradition—continues to be reinterpreted, exchanged, and expanded in meaning.

Anchored by the themes of Revival, Encounter, and Nexus, this exhibition draws largely from the Gallery’s recent acquisitions and features works by artists of diverse cultural backgrounds from Southeast Asia, reflecting the breadth and adaptability of ink across traditions. The exhibition’s spatial design, featuring curved walls, strategic openings, and multiple sightlines, mirrors the fluidity and multifaceted nature of ink, inviting visitors to reflect, wander, and encounter ink on their own terms.
