In the culminating chapter of She Isn't Here, this evolving choreographic project traces how the female body in Southeast Asia is shaped, disciplined and imagined. Rooted in San Minn’s once-censored painting Age of Full Bloom (1979), the work begins by asking what it means for beauty to function as both a form of power and a veil of erasure. The painting’s serene composure, born from an era of political censorship, becomes an entry point into understanding how women’s bodies are often rendered symbolic: celebrated for grace and restraint, yet silenced beneath the surface. This final showing turns toward the gestures, expectations and labour that live behind such images.
